Hooker assessment up but she’s unhappy

“because Hooker is slated
for removal according to

District council policy and it
should not be expanding.
However, it is up to council
to check this out.”

Gniffin notes from. her
inquiries that land
assessments for the three
companies she appealed
against last year, Hooker,
Mohawk and ERCO, have
increased by only 10 per cent
and their buildings by nine to
13 per cent.

She comments: ‘This
means that North Vancouver
School Board will see more
tax revenue as a result of the
machinery assessment in-
crease but the District
coffers won't benefit
because machinery is not
taxed for municipal pur-
poses, only for schools.”
