you can rent an apartment
from a vintner for $50 per
aay. An apartment is usually
self-catering but it’s a good
bet for a family as the price
remains the same, no matter
how many people share the
accommodation.

For example, two adults
with, say, two. children,
would pay just over $12 per
head — considerably less
than for a couple of hotel
reoms. (In Germany, as in
many European countries,
hotels charge for the number
of persons sharing a room).

The one disadvantage of
staying with farmers or
vintners is that they usualJy,
in peak season, insist that
you stay for at least a week
— but this can be negotiated
with the proprietor.
