Flowers for the | Easter table —

doesn’t have to be
time consuming.

Here’s an idea for an
Easter floral arrangement
that is simple and beautiful
and takes just a short time
to assemble.

Materials:

wet floral foam(available at
craft and floral stores)
fresh alstromeria, freesia,
daffodils

sharp knife

long oblong container

Try to find a low-lying
container with some unusual

_ detail to it.,

nursery for $25. This works
_Beautially because of its’

‘size'and shape for the centre |

of the table... -
After purchasing your
fresh flowers, it’s best to’

‘condition them before plac-

ing them in your arrange-
ment. a .

This is done by giving
them a fresh cut with a
sharp knife and letting them
soak in lukewarm water with
floral preservative for one to
two hours.

If you're lucky you will
have some beautiful daf-
fodils in your garden or
flower pots that you can clip
for this arrangement.

But remember that
spring bulb flowers like daf-
fodils and tulips do not like
floral preservative so leave
them out of the soaking
process.

Soak your floral foam in
lukewarm water for 30-min-
utes.Lay out sorne plastic or
newspaper to work on.

Place your daffodils in
the foam first.

Make sure to carefully
spread them around the
whole container.

Add your alstromeria

“next and fill in any remain-

ing gaps with the freesia.

Remember to use the
green unopened freesia buds
in your arrangement. These
buds open beautifully over
time.

The finished product
should have the appearance

of being very lush and full...”
