Axe thief snags change

AN axe- wielding rob-
ber made off with
about $100 in spare
change on July 6 at a
sandwich shop in the
2000-block of
Dollarton Highway.

Police say the robber
threatened an employee with
an axe during the 3:30 p.m.
incident.

1-1. A witness reportedly saw
the robber get into a red and
white cargo van driven by
another man. The van took
off travelling west, in the
direction of the Second
Narrows Bridge.

The — suspects were
described as being Caucasian
and 30 to 40 years old.

The first suspeet was 1.78
mi (5°10"), 82 kgs (180 Ibs),
with brown hair, He is
described as having bad acne
scars on his face, rotting front
teeth and a cut lower lip.

The man also had a tattoo
on his neck that appeared to

depict part of a tail, The’
pect was wearing a turtleneck
shirt that partially. covered :
the tattoo. Wo
The second robber and.
driver of the van was_1.83:m
(6°) with long shaggy brown
hair. Witnesses reported that
the van driver kept his hand:
over his face as he drove.
The van was an early 198
model Chevrolet or-GMC. :
