Chena swimmers win medals

THREE MEMBERS of the Chena
Swim Club won gold medals dur-
ing their annual swim meet last
weekend at William Griffin pool in
North Vancouver.

Alison Atkinson stroked to a
first-place finish in the 100m
freestyle, and added a silver medal
performance in the [00m _ back-
stroke.

Atkinson’s Chena teammate
Kristine Lowrie won gold in the
100m butterfly and a bronze medal
in the 100m freestyle event.

medals included Andrea Donohoe
(silver in the 100m freestyle) and
Alexandra Leizy-Miller (bronze in
the 200m individual medley).

This weekend, Donohoe, Lowrie
and Chena's Kathleen Stoody will
compete at the Junior Nationals in
Calgary, while 10 other Chena
swimmers will travel to Kamloops
to take part in the B.C. double-A
meet.
