April 20 to Neale Staniszkis Doll,
project architects, by the Archi-
tectural Institute of British Col-
umbia under their 1990 Medals in
Architecture Program. This
award, one of only five presented
by the Architectural Institute
every three years, recognizes ‘‘ar-
chitects and their clients for their
contribution to excellence in the
built environment.”

The most recent award was
presented June 8 to Laing Proper-
ty Corporation by the Urban De-
velopment Institute, Pacific
Region, in recognition of its con-
tribution to excellence in the de-
velopment of the Urban En-
vironment. The Urban Develop-
ment Institute is a national non-
profit society representing ail
aspects of the development in-
dustry.

These awards reflect Laing’s
success in creating a retirement
residence which provides, through

offered, a distinctive lifestyle op-
tion for those of retirement age.
