CHRISTMAS CAME early to Lions Gate Hospital Dec. 8 when the North Vancouver District Fire Department presented a $15,000 cheque to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation for the purchase of a children's cardiac monitor. The money, which will cover the total cost of the monitor, was rais- ed at a Casino Night held by the firefighters with the specific pur- pose of contributing to the care of children at the hospitai. The monitor is a valuable tool in the treatment of seriously ill children, such as those suffering from asthma or meningitis or re- covering from major surgery.
