Firefighters were called to the scene at 150 Stevens Drive just after 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. Investigators beileve the fire started in the kitchen of the home after oil in a pot on the stove overheated and ignited. The fire extended Into the attic of the house, through the stove hood exhaust, and igiited the home’s cedar shake roof. The fire then burned through the dining room. Firefighters extinguished a the fire after half an hour at the scene. The lone occupant of the home managed iv escape the burning house without injury. The home sustained approximately $70,000 in damage.
