dleton’s fetter on Nov. 21 concern-
ing licensing regulations for his
scooter,

What he may not realize is that
this provincial (not just Van-
couver) law was introduced to pro-
tect people just like him from the

Hundreds of cyclists die each year
needlessly.

Studies show that. more than
half of all motorcycle accidents
could have been avoided if novice
riders had been better equipped to
handle the situations. Some pro-

The sensibie articles of Doug
Collins on South Africa should
have been titled: Honesty Remains
the Best Policy.

The Republic of South Africa is
the world's most complex plural
society. It is a country of
minorities which is unique in the
world. Communities exist side by
side, mutually dependent on one
another for survival,

South Africa is an expanding
and developing democracy, and
not a boiling cauldron on the verge
of explosion as the media wrongly
present it to the misinformed
public.

I have fived over 15 years in
West Africa and enjoyed four

visits in South Africa from 1970 to
1984. 1 realize how much potent
and obvious change took place in
that country. It seemed to me that
South Africa as a dynamic transi-
tional society was solving its
challenges in the right time and at
the right pace.

We, Canadians, should commu-
hicate more with South Africans
and help the process of construc-
tion initiated in Souts Africa,
rather than collaborating with the
Marxist ANC target of destablisa-
tion, destruction and takeover.
