Nimi, who has been studing Ikebana for 20 years, says while there are plenty of books on the subject, one really learns through feel. Because the materials are ar- ranged according to the season and types of vegetation available, ar- rangers become in tune with nature, Nimi says CAPTURE ESSENCE To create a successful arrange- ment one must first study the nature of the materials and how they work within their environ- ment, then capture that essence in an arrangement, says Nimi.
