arlene room ‘just “couldn't find the net IN:'NORTH Shore Industrial soccer last Sunday, Tecum Teak clearly dominated all but the last quarter of the game to hand the North Shore News their second loss of the season. Consistent, pressure and - several near misses took — their toll of the News-keeper, finally’ resulting in the first goal ‘halfway through the first half. The struggling News team held their opponents off until about fifteen minutes into the second half when the News keeper, Joe Perras, couldn't hang on to a low hard cross from the wing, giving the Tecum striker a wide open net and a two goal lead. With only fifteen minutes left in the game the News was able to catch the Tecum defence napping. But it was too Little too late, giving Tecum a 2-1 victory and a tie for first place with the News. it must have been a frustrating afternoon for North Shore Darkroom when Trev: Jones defeated them 1-0. Darkroom played well and certainly had the op- portunity to win when they were awarded two penalty shots in the course of the game. Not only did they miss on the first, but couldn't find the back of the net on the second, even with two chances due to a Trev Jones player moving inside the penalty area before the shot was taken. The victory for Trev Jones moved them into a three way tie for first place with Tecum and the News. Everything ts going wrong for last year’s second place league finishers, Swiss Sports Haus. It looked like they were going to have their first win in cight starts, leading Goofy’s Place 1-0 for most of the game. Then the Sports Haus goalie fumbled the ball and lost it to a Goofy’s forward, who tucked it away with only minutes Icft to make it a 1-1! tic. In other soccer action that day the Lynnwood Hotel kept alive, cdging SCD Warchouse 3-2, and Pegasus Old Boys and Rive Brothers played to a 1-1 finish, giving Rive Brothers their sixth tic- up of the scason.
