12 ~- Sunday, January 15, 1989 - North Shore News Kilmer Creek rezoning adopted THE REZONING bylaw for the Kilmer Creek Development area has been officially adopted by North Vancouver District Council — for the second time. The original rezoning bylaw, in- troduced Aug. 7 of last year, was quashed by council after a Supreme Court petition, initiated by East Braemar resident Allan Edgeworth, argued that the project outlined in the bylaw as adopted Sept. 26 was different from the project as outlined prior to the Sept. 12 public hearing on the matter. . On Nov. 21, council introduced a new rezoning bylaw that went to public hearing on Dec. 13. Resident concerns expressed at that meeting regarding road alignment, traffic, environmental impact and drainage were re- iterated by aldermen Craig Clark and Joan Gadsby, but neither were able to convince the rest of council to defer the adoption of the bylaw for more staff reports. However, Gadsby insisted that council be provided with monthly status reports on the Braemar- Dempiey road construction project and any concerns and problems arising. Edgeworth also requested that consultant reports be made available to the resident’s Liaison Committee.
