Find the stops of interest TO celebrate the com- ing millennium, the Heritage Society of British Columbia (HSBC) has announced the Spot the Stop - Contest. From (1958 until the 1970s, the province erected Steps of Interest markers along .B.C.’s highways and byways. The signposts of history indicated to travellers points of historic. interest, events, and _ significant people: in B.C.’s development. Tt has been many years since the program ceased and now the HSBC wants to know how many of these markers are still around, their current con- dition, and which signposts have disappeared over the years, The society is inviting com- munities, heritage groups, school groups and other inter- ‘ested parties to compile an up- to-date inventory of these fas- cinating signposts.
