Single sidewalk closures will be in effect on the Lions Gate Bridge from August 3 through September 1999 as a result of bridge tower painting, part of the Ministry of Transportation and Highways’ scheduled maintenance program. NOTE: Cyclists and pedestrians will be able to access one sidewalk throughout this maintenance project. To ensure the safety of all sidewalk users on the Lions Gate Bridge during this maintenance project, pedestrians and cyclists are advised of the following: Q Cyclists dismount when meeting ali walkway users and yieid the right of way to pedestrians; QO Allow extra travel time to reach destinations; and @ Watch for detour signs for alternative routes accessing sidewalks. When required for tower painting, overnight lane closures on the bridge will occur simultaneously with lane closures on the Stanley Park Causeway.
