MAY IS National Quilt
Month. In celebration of
this little known fact, the
Lions Gate Quilters’

Guild presents the quilt”

show “Album of Quilts.”

From May 3 to 5, an
assortment of more than 200
quilted items will be on dis-
play at the Lucas Centre.

items — bed quilts, wall
hangings, garments and
miniatures — have been con-
structed by guild members.

An interesting feature of
the exhibition is an education
area, called “Pieces, Process
and Product.” The area is
staffed by guild members,
and shows visitors the many
steps involved in producing a
quilted item. :

Quilt squares made in the
education area are to be used
in the guild's Community
Quilt Program.

Since 1992, guild mem-
bers have made and donated
more than 150 quilts. Quilts
sewn in 1995 were donated to
Emily Murphy House and
Evergreen Extended Care
Facility.

The display is open daily
at 10 a.m. Closing times are 7
p.m. on Friday, 6 p.m. on
Saturday and at 4 p.m. on-
Sunday. Admission is $4 for
adults and $3 for seniors. «

The 175-member guild
meets the fourth Thursday of
each month at Jaycee House,
1251 Lillooet, North Van. For
