Dear Editor: There seents to be Jess tolerance for dogs on the North Shore now than ever before. Even at the Ambleside doggie walk, J come across people who snislas | jog by every morning with my two black labs. I wonder what they are doing al the doggie walk when they clearly dislike dogs. I know they don't like me either because | am the dog owner (even though | am careful to clean up afler my pets and they are generally friendly beasts). Ocassionally 1 stretch our morn- ing run to include the seawall, because, contrary lo what Mr. Peirson says in his Letter of the Day Gan. 14), dogs are welcome on the seawall. I know this because there is a Dear Editor: In the continuing discussion on what ta do with the Lions Gate Bridge — repair, replace, tunnel! or dupticate is another as vet unconsidered solution to the prob- lem of getting traffic out of down- town Vancouver. The prob- Jem is that the “special marking” of this path is confusing. Along the dog path there are (wo stretches where it is unclear where the dogs are 1a go. Tassume that dogs are to be leashed and walked to the nest obvious entrance to the dog route, | could be wrong, and so could the people that Mr. Peirson is com- phtining about. Perhaps if the reute that dogs are supposed to tike on the seawalk was marked more clearly, people dike Mr. Peirson would nol have their evening strolls spoiled. And perhaps if we all showed a fitthe more tolerance for one another, we wouldit need so many bylaws. Shannon Humphreys West Vancouver Divert traffic over Indian Arm suheme are obvious. ML. Seymour tarkway is already four lanes, the largest span over water is compara- ble to that of the Lions Gate and most of the rondway to Port Moady is through as yet largely undevel- oped jund. Further, this is a means of solving the problent of tuking traffie away from downtown Vancouver on Highway 10 and also from the Second Narrows Bridge and Highway oT to New Westininster and beyond. The rebuilding of the Lioas Gate Bridge to even ¢ighi lanes dees not hetp te salve this problena. dames R. Thomson West Vancouver SUNDAY BY THE POOL : FREE. Once again, Noel has clobbered the civil service as a conve- viens scapegoat not realizing they are human beings too, in recent yours much downsizing, attrition, hiring and wage freezes, layoffs, and privatization has not been mentioned by him let alone the effect this all has on the quality of the service to Canadians, f even know of one person who after many years of loyal ser- vice nets less than $650 every two weeks.
