The number three seed in boys’
singles, Ramin Pejan, of West
Vancouver, made it all the way to
the finals before fosing a heart-
breaking match to the number two
seed, Ontario player Tyson Parry,
7-6, 7-6.

“- The 16-year-old righthander
_had cruised to the final, defeating
Quebec’s. Simon Larose in the
semi-finals 6-3, 6-4, and On-
-tario’s Aleka Popovic in the
quarters, 7-5, 6-0. Larose made a
‘finals bid a little easier for Pejan
when he upset the number one

In girls’ singles action, West
Vancouver’s Zahra Ahamed con-
tinued the match toughness that
earned her doubles gold at the
recent Canada Summer Games in
Kamloops.

The unseeded 14-year-old won
the first set against the sixth seed,
Krista Manning of St. John’s, in
the quarter finals 6-3, but Mann-
ing rallied back to take the next
two sets 6-2, 6-4. -

The Ministry of Transportation and Highways advises that there will be a combination of
single lance alternating traffic and full bridge closures on the Lions Gate Bridge from
Friday, August 27 to Thursday, September 2. Single lane alternating traffic and full -
