Born in Vancouver, Mr. McGregor lived for many years in West Vancouver and was renown- ed for creating the distinctive inte- riors of. many Lower Mainland restaurants and clubs including the International Plaza’s Daddy Long Legs. . Mr. McGregor was also well known for his unique house, pool and garden designs. H, 203 West 2nd Street, North Vancouver (over .08, 30 days jail). A NORTH VANCOUVER City proposed smoking bylaw would curb smoking in the workplace except in desig- nated areas. As always with an issue like this, the field is divided. Many smokers claim the move will unfairly restrict their right to smoke where they choose, when they choose. Non-smokers say their right to clean, fresh air is restricted by smokers in the often close quarters of the work environment. Some firms have already voluntarily restricted smoking to designated areas and so far their action seems to have ret with the approval of most con- cerned. In Vancouver, a non-smoking bylaw in effect since 1986 has curbed smoking in most public and work Jocations. A few bylaw violations have been noted.
