Heritage walk
returns to NV

HERITAGE BUFFS, get your
walking shoes out. Local heritage
enthusiast Roy Pallant returns
with his ever-popular Heritage
Walk of the North Lonsdale
District in North Vancouver next
Sunday, Feb. 17.

It’s Heritage Week so this is the
perfect time to acquaint yourself
with loca! history. The tour may
also be of interest to those con-
cerned about the fate of the Nye
House, centrepiece of the North
Lonsdale area, which is threatened
by‘demolition.

The tour will include a look at
the interior of St. Martin’s Angli-
can Church, as well as the exterior
features of exemplary character
homes on St. George’s, St. James
and Windsor Streets. Route charts
are included.

The walk is free of charge and
takes place rain or shine. Be sure
to bring good walking shoes.
Duration of the tour is 180
minutes, or three hours. Partici-
pants meet at the District of
North Vancouver Municipal Hall
on Queens Street in the parking
lot at 1:30 p.m. The walk is spon-
sored by the North Vancouver
District Heritage Advisory Com-
mittee.
