are weak.” said Robertson,
who leaves tomorrow for
Slovakia for 10 days of commu-
nity outreach and ministry
work.

Critics of Promise Keepers,
however, said the movement
did nor encourage a_relation-
ship of equals in marriage.

Robertson said the ‘goal of
the Catholic ministry's move-
ment is for “a union between
women and inen in: decision
making (and) a complementing
of one another and dialoguing.
There is an open sharing and
discussion.”

Maureen Gabricl, executive
director of North Shore ‘
Services Society and SAGE,
formerly Emily Murphy
House, sees that as a good
thing, “Any movement or ini-
tative that is designed to
cnable people — men and
women — become more sensi-
tive to cach other's needs, that
fosters respect and carin
would be one that we would
find more than appropriate.”
