NOW that fall is offi-
cially here there are
some seasonal jobs that
need to be done.

Keep mowing the grass as
long as there is growth.
Overly long grass will
become matted over the win-
ter and be more susceptible
to fungal diseases. Just as
important as mowing is the
raking of leaves. Grass cov-
ered with leaves or debris will
not get enough lighr.

A light application of fall
fertilizer (one with a higher
Jast number) will help rough-
en up the grass and nsake it
more cold resistant.

ous article. it is time to plant
hardy spring bulbs and veg-
etable bulbs such as i
