at Chelmsford Top Security
Prison with: “You can’t

here. It’s just like being in

mommy, mommy.”

. Do we want kinder, gen-

tler rabble or do we like our -

misfits full of snot and vine-
ar?

This fileky lucre business
is your basic textbook rock
‘n’ roll swindle.

Nostalgia/greed-driven
reunions are nothing new.

Better bands than the
Pistols have barreled down
the road before.

Of course the tour will be
a bollocky success, attracting

witness the accident the first
time around when these odd
sods outraged some, con-
fused some and fit the Do It
Yourself fires for so many
kids with guitars in the
1970s.

The older, more personal-
ly upholstered Pistols will

also draw this year’s model of

punk, whe’ ll want to. see
what all the fuss could have
been about.

Filthy Lucre trots out the
required set list alright,
Pretty Vacant, Holidays In
The Sun, God Save The Queen
and many other nasty bits.

Too bad it’s done in a
perfunctory, big-rock arena
kind of way.

Too many rounded edges
here.

Ger this disc if you must
have the souvenir.

and Indian pop, bur the
unexpected direction taken
on this latest: release truly
surprises.

The challenging premise
is this: present six “drones”
and let the listener latch on
tu the melodic threads inher-
ent to the harmonic mass of
cach.

In a profound way, by lis-
tening you become part of
the creative process.

She says it best in the liner
notes: “I’m putting what I
hear under a magnifying
glass.

“When you walk up toa
stone, it’s grey and just sits
there. But when you put a
magnifying glass over it, sud-
denly the stone has texture,
it’s get surface, it’s got histo-
ry, its a world within a
world.”

Some of the instrumental
tracks are embellished by
Chandra’s vocal intonations.
