~, NV salon celebrates first year SHARP HAIR Design celebrated its one-year anniversary in’ style last Sunday with a party and hair show for its clientele. By Elizabeth Collings News Reporter Sharp owner and stylist Sally Rowe said in an interview with the News that this past year has been a big one for her. First. she opened her salon fast May 16 and then three months later she was selected as one of tive B.C. finalists to represent the province at In Style magazine's hair dresser of the year competi- tion. Now, one year after Sharp Hair Design opened its doors in Lons- dale Court, the stylists’ chairs are kept busy. “Business is great,"’ says Rowe. “*It’s far surpassed any predictions made.’ She opened the salon with a staff of three — herself and two siylists— and now has five stylists and says she has no more space to take on new stylists for the salon. She points to service and team- work among the staff as key reasons for the salon’s success. “Our specialty is service if you want to put it that way. People want service for their money these days.”” The salon offers cuts, color, perms and streaks and does a lot of technical work. Also an international platform artist for Paul Mitchell products, London-born Rowe trained with Jingles and Sassoon in the U.K. before moving to Canada 20 years ago. On the North Shore, she has worked at the Hair Company and West Coast Woman.
