Corsi named chairman
of cancer campaign

RESTAURATEUR, EN-
TREPRENEUR and focal celebrity
Mario Corsi will be the honorary
campaign chairman of the 1990
April door-to-door residential
campaign for the West Vancouver
unit of the Canadian Cancer
Society (CCS).

Corsi, pact owner of the Park
Royal Hotel, Cafe Rama and Cor-
si Trattoria, has been a strong
supporter of the CCS, donating
space and time for numerous activ-
ities over the years. Most recently
he was a star prisoner/participant
in October's successful Jail-N-Bail

fundraising event.

Under the campaign slogan,
Together We Can Beat Cancer, the
residential campaign is the socic-
ty’s major fundraising effort of the
year.

The majority of the campaiga
has canvassers blanket
neighborhoods during the first two
weeks of April, which is recogniz-
ed nationally as Cancer Month.

ers are not looking to provide the
quick-fix health food.

Rather, they want to educate
people so they can make healthy
choices.

To that end, Bergstrom advises
people to read labels carefully. The
ingredients of the product are
listed in order of quantity.

People may find that products
are not always what they scem. For
example, a loaf of bread called
Multi-grain listed white flour as its
first ingredient.

but I don't blame them. You read
in the paper one thing is good, the
next day it’s excellent and then it's
miraculous.””

3033. Bergstrom will also be at the
desk on March 30 from J p.m. to 4
p.m. to answer questions.
