Tinned corned beef can be tasty

ONE OF the nicest things about coming home from a

two-week holiday is a clean refrigerator.

No scraps, leftovers or guilty
**must use that up’ trips. I can go
grocery shopping and even have
room to unload the loot. But the
holiday did make a slight dent in
my budget, so I’m watching the
ads even more closely than ! nor-
mally do. Thus, | made a big ‘'X”’
on the London Drugs flyer —

For those who think this product
is one step away from dog food,
think again. You can do some
mighty tasty things with tinned
corned beef. Try these next time
you're having a crowd for a late-
night snack. I'll bet you won't

have any leftovers.
Beef-Stuffed Buns

12 hamburger buns or 8 Kaisers (1
buy the ones at Save-On for 10¢
each)
1 tin corned beef
1-2 cups grated medium cheddar
cheese
V2 cup chopped ercen olives
¥Y% cup ketchup
1 bunch preen onions, chopped
3 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
i ibsp. finely chopped green pep-
per

Combine filling ingredients and
mix well.

Stuff the buns (IJ don’t butter
them, but you can if you like).

Press the halves together, arrange
on a cookie sheet(s) and cover
lightly with foil, Bake at 325°F
about half an hour or until hot
through.

Great with beer and dill pickles,
especially for poker parties.

bananas or any other fruit you

I’ve included a recipe for chocolate

sauce that makes up quickly and is
inexpensive.
Small Chiffon Cake
This makes one layer or one small

loaf.
1 egg. separated
Va cup sugar
1/6 cup oil
Ya cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flour
Y2 cup sugar
1-2 tsp. baking powder
V2 tsp. salt

In a small bowl, whip the egg
white and add 4 cup sugar. Beat
to a stiff meringue.

Combine egg yolk with oil, milk
