battery cable. If, however,
storage conditions are below
freezing, remove the bat-
tery, clearly marking which
are the positive and negative
terminals.

Take care not to store it
where sparks could ignite
the hydrogen given off by
the electrolyte. If the battery
is placed on a heavy plastic
or stainless steel pan, no
damage will occur from any
spilled electrolyte. If it must
be stored longer than six
months, you will probably
need a new battery on your
return.
