International Cinema Corp.
announced Wednesday it
has secured full financing for
the $25 million’ epic
“Bethune — The Long
March,” that will be filmed
in Canada, China and Spain
next year.

The movie on Norman Be-
thune, the famed Canadian
doctor who became one of
China's foremost heroes, will
be the most ambitious
production ever undertaken
by a Canadian film com-
pany.

clusive fiscal agency

The public offering by
Newhouse and financial
backing by the Canadian

assure full financing of the
movie, ICC said.
Preproduction has already
started and _ principal
photography will begin next
February. Canadian’ Ted
Kotcheff will direct the film,

film coproduction  cor-
poration and the August Ist
Film Studio for filming parts
of the movie in that country.

The two industry officials
said the scenes in China
would involve thousands of
extras and major battles
staged over a rugged area of
northern China.
