For arts and enter- tainment listings, see the Arcund Town column in Wednesday's North Shore Now section, VOLUNTEERS THE FOLLOWING is a selection of volunteer opportunities avail- able througn North Shore Community Services (NSCS): A support volunteer is needed for a male recovering stroke patient to help with recreational activities, especially outdoors. The patient is in a wheelchair but can walk a little with support. Volunteer hosts are needed at a North Shore recreation facility. Duties will include greeting pco- ple as they enter, providing infor- mation and generally assisting those using the facility. Card and cribbage players, especially males, are needed to visit seniors who live at home but are not able to go out, Enjoy a friendly game with someone who will benefit from your company. A qualified fitness instructor who can teach a class for active seniors is needed by a North Shore seniors’ facility for a Monday morning class. Last year's instruc- tor will help you get started. A male swimming aide is needed to assist a handicapped man. You will need your own car to transport the swimmer and will need to be able to swira in order to- assist in the wuter. .
