THE CF-18 Hornet, F-15 Eagle
and F-!14 Tomeat will be among
the many aircraft to grace the
skies this weekend at the Ab-
botsford International Airshow.

Entering its 27th season, the
Aug. 12, $3 and 14 show is
headlined by the CAF Snow Birds
precision flying team and the U.S.
Navy's Blue Angels team.

The BIB bomber — a special
treat at this year’s airshow and a
supersonic crowd-pleaser — will
be joined by annual favorite the
Harrier jump jet.

Spectators will be able to view
the host of military and civilian
aircraft on the ground or during
the numerous planned fly-bys and
aerial demonstrations,

Running at Abbotsford airport
— 56 kilometres east of Van-
couver on Highway {| — the show
begins at 8 a.m. each of the days,
with gates opening at 7 a.m.

CBO outlets, including Wood-
ward’s and Eatou’s.

a Japanese person chances are he
is talking about your blood type.

In Japan, blood typing has
teplaced astrology as the pop
answer to the mysteries of per-
sonality, according to Alexander
Besher who with Toshitaka Nomi
has co-authored the book You
Are Your Blood Type (Pocket
Books, $6.95).

While scientists generally think
of blood type as a _ genetically-
determined, chemical charac-
teristic of red blood cells, Nomi’s
tesearcher father spent 40 years
studying some 100,000 blood
samples and relating them to per-
sonalities. His son now heads the
Tokyo ABO Society, ‘‘a blood-
type think “tank,’’ and in Japan
blood typing has become the
answer to astrology.

According to the authors, major
Japanese automakers select work
teams according to blood-type
combinations. And vending
machines in subway stations
dispense blood-type readings in
the same way drug stores in
Canada seil horoscopes.

Nomi and Besher claim that
People with type O blood are
goal-oriented, optimistic, en-
thusiastic and good at business. A
types are industrious, idealistic,
soft-spoken and careful, while the
B group are passionate, creative,
flexible and unconventional. The

rare AB is the natural born leader
—- diplomatic, rational and imag-
inative.

Analysis of the shroud of Turin
revealed that Jesus was an AB
and, although you may not be
able to claim you have ‘royal
blood,” if you’re type O, you’re
the same blood group as Queen
Elizabeth.

How does the population break
down according to blood? The
majority are optimistic O (44 per
cent); the idealistic A comes se-
cond (42 per cent); the passionate
B makes up only 10 per cent,
while the rarest group is the imag-
inative AB (only four per cent).

Many Canadians do not know
what blood type they have. It
costs nothing to find out your
blocd type -— simply attend the
next Red Cross blood clinic.
