Carol ships to
light up harbor

UNWRAP your song sheets, the carol ships are coming.
The Parade of Lights Society has released the annual sail-
past schedule that has become a fixture on so many families’
seasonal activity list.The festively decorated -ships will make
nightly pilgrimages across local waters from Dec. 5 to Dec. 23
The following listed dates include specific North Shore
destinations or viewing opportunities along the shoreline.
_ Shore-based activities such as bonfires, choirs, music and
roving entertainets are planned for Dec. 12 at Waterfront
Park and Dec. 20 at Cates and Panorama parks.

opportunities available
through North Shore
Community Services
(NSCS).

* Art Rental volunteers are
needed to help set up and take
down a monthly Art Rental
display. Volunteers will be
holding framed paintings znd

prints, wooden boards and

pillars.

A musician is needed to
play piano or organ for church
services and hymn singing.
Alternate activity could be to
play church music in other
areas of the building.

Drivers are needed to
work with frail and elderly
men and women in a variety
of rewarding programs from
two to 10 hours per month,
Training and support provid-
ed.

Tugging on the heart strings

THE North Shore’s own Pro Nova Ensemble performed Mozart, Piston and Medeissohn for a rapt crowd
at West Vancouver’s Ferry Building last morith. The popular musicians will be performing at the same
location December 4 at 7:30 p.m.

_ Data entry/bird record
program volunteers are need-
ed to enter bird sighting data
onto a computer from sheets
of paper. Application is in
Windows and volunteers must
have their own [BM compati-
ble computer.

A playroom assistant is
needed to help set up and put,
away; help with the making of
coffee and preparing snacks,
and generaily assist the Early
Childhood Education trained
staff as well as ‘playing with the
children.

NSCS is a member agency of
the United Way.

Skating guides for the
visually impaired are urgently
needed on Sundays for the
Optimist VIP Skating Club at
the West End Community
Centre, Haro at Denman,
from 10 to 11:30 a.m. If you
