§ Dear Editor: It was with great interest that I read the business report card on North Vancouver in your Aug. 3] paper. I can only write about my experiences with North Vancouver District after years of A protracted battles with them and their north shore Sunday, September 7, 1997 — North Shore News - 9 news MAIL BOX \Disirict duplication suffocating business bylaws. First paint: taxes. Business and residential taxpayers should be aware that North Vancouver District spends hundreds of thou- sands of dollars cach year to duplicate federal and provincial environmental resources. Why we need an environmental enforce- ment agency at the district level should be of great concern to all North Vancouver District taxpayers. Second point: bylaws. Iris my opinion that half of North Vancouver District's resources are used writing new bylaws and the other half is used enforcing existing ones. The associated cost of this bylaw-heavy government must be astronomical. No wonder business complains, the local residential taxpayer should alse: be complain- ing.
