My ‘neighbours. lost their little dog recently (and it was only outside 10 mins. and never. wandered). — Our children «have been warned . in school: not. to approach a strange looking animal and my little: boy. was - actually afraid of going . to. ‘school in case he’ ‘Sam. the - trouble with coyote’ attacks. Previous to that I had heard coyote. I was coming home. at 2— a.m. last Thursday when -I- caught ‘sight. of the. coyote in “my- headlights: ‘I wanted to. make sure. and chased it” down the street ‘until it went - ‘into someone’s garden - took. . the number of the house and flew. home. I phoned ‘the police and got this snippy, very rude, female on the phone: ‘who told.me she was _ ' too busy with important calls- after I: had explained my call and put. me on hold and never came back. I phoned the non-emergency number | and although the female who answered was courteous, she said they would not send anyone out as it wasn’t their jurisdiction - I would have to phone ‘Wild life’’ in the : morning. A bit late! | Now if I had been walking and the animal had attacked me - what would have happened? I feel they should ~ have responded and maybe it wouldn’t have. been neces- © sary for your latest animal loss.
