Society is hosting « special sight-
reading session for singers and in-
strumentalists Nov. 14.

But the group still needs singers
and string players for the session,
which is to be led by well-known
director and conductor Don James

In a sight-reading session — this
time featuring Beethoven's Mass in
C and Pergolesi’s Magnificat —
participants familiarize themselves
with the works.

“People come out and read
through the works with the or-
chestra and choir,’’ explained Jack

Downs, organizer of the event.
“It’s just to study the work.”

The workshop will be held at
Highlands United Church, 3255
Edgemont Blvd. in North Van-
couver, and runs from 9:30 a.m. to
3:30 p.m. Music will be supplied.
