THE CLANG of metal on metal
will fill North Vancouver's Water-
front Park Aug. 29 when armored
knights of old vie for supremacy
over challanging opponents.

The Society for Creative
Anachronism will bring its ar-
mored battlers to the park Satur-
day as part of a series of summer
events taking place there.

“It’s basically going to be one of
our medieval events,’ said society
member and local resident Gerry
Stevens. ‘‘There will be fighting
with real armor and fake weapons,

“Generally it's made of steel or
feather,’ Stevens said of armor
used by the fighters. ‘There are
some modern materials such as
plastics and so on.”*
