IF YOU haven't seen much of ac-
tor Jay Brazeau this past year,
there's a wood reason for it,

He and his wife, actor Suzanne
Ristic, have of late swapped the
stage for dirty diapers and all-night
crying sessions.

The cause of all the excitement
is 4¥%-month-old Jean) Anton
Napolean Brazeau, who his loving
parents adoringly refer to as simply
“Johnny Tony.”

ful, Brazeau, 39, says over the
phone, “Its actually keeping me
young because | ocan see mysedf
starting out again.”

Brazeau will be making his first
stage appearance this year in next
month's Cyrano de Bergerac, the
charming, touching story of stead-
fast devotion and unrequited love.
Brazeau is starring as the fearless
soldier of the large nose.

Brazeau has played the character
twice before, first at the Manitoba
Theatre Centre -- his first profes-
sional stage role (“1 had three
small parts and three lines,” he
says) and six years ago at the

Artisans sought for Folkfest

THE NORTH Vancouver Com-
munity Arts Council is Icoking for
North Shore artisans interested in
taking part in its annual craft fair.

In conjunction with the North
Vancouver Folkfest celebration,
the 5th annual craft fair, tradi-
tionally held in the Civic Plaza at
14th and Lonsdale -- this year
from June 17 to 26 — will exhibit

and sell work by focal crafts-
people,

Artists are asked to submit an
application for table space, which
is $60 for non-members and $50
for arts council members. Jurying
takes place May 19, 26 and June 2
between 4 and 6 p.m. at Pres-
entation House. .
