THE following people have appeared in North Vancouver provincial court to face various charges: Before Judge Jerome Paradis on March 23: Rudy Avignoni, 21, of North Vancouver, received a 12 month conditional sentence after he pleaded guilty to traf- ficking cocaine on May 14, 1997 in North Vancouver. Avignoni was required to pertorm 100 hours of commu- nity work service. On March 10, Paradis sen- tenced Avignoni's co-accused Neil Nijjer, 23, to a three month conditional sentence after he pleaded guilty to traf- ficking cocaine on Dec. 3, 1996 and on Dec. 31, 1996 in . North Vancouver. Nijjer was required to per- form 75 hours of community work service. On Jan. 7, Judge Paradis sentenced another co-accused. Gregory William Oleson,30,° of Whistler received a three month condi- tional sentence for: ’ B trafficking cocaine on Dec. Bt powsess $420 th th possess $420 that was the proceeds of cocaine trafficking. ’ Oleson was required to per- form 75 hours of community work. ‘Another co-accused sen- tenced on the same. day, Matthew James Picrotte, 20, of North Vancouver, received a nine month conditional sen- tenee after he pleaded guilty to: Brrafticking cocaine on July 2, 1997, B possessing $3,500 from cocaine trafficking. Picrotte was ordered to per- form 100 hours of community work, A vehicle involved in the crime was forteited. Avignoni, Oleson, Nijjer and Pierotte were drag runners for Lynn Valley’s David Darmadi. Darmadi was sen- tence to 3% years in jail for cocaine trafficking in February. He is eligible for parole in September, Before Judge Doug Moss on March 16: Michael Steven Edwards, 27, of North Vancouver, was jailed 18 months and received 12 months’ probation after he was found guilty of robbing a 7-Eleven store employee on Oct. 26,1997, Edwards was prohibited from possessing guns for 10 years. The convenience store was located at 310 Chestertield Ave. Before Judge Doug Moss on Feb. 17: Norman Steven Charlie, 18, of West Vancouver, was jailed 14 days and received 12 months’ probation after he pleaded guilty to: @ committing mischief by breaking a woman's window on Feb. 14 in West Vancouver; M breaching probation by drinking alcohol on the same day relating to a Young Offenders Act sentence. Before Judge Bill Rodgers on Feb. 17: Sharon Dundas, 40, of North Vancouver, was jailed one day after she pleaded guilty to: @ breaching probation by fail- ing to report to a probation officer on Oct, 14, 1998 in North Vancouver City; @ stealing merchandise belonging to Sears Canada on jan. 17 in North Vancouver ity. . Victim stopped vehicle and attempted to exit. Victinr’s clothing was torn and stom- ach and back scratched by the suspeet(s).
