Jag Singh, a real estate ad-
ministrator with the Insurance
Cerp. of B.C. (ICBC), has been
appointed to the board of direc-
tors of the B.C. Assessment
Authority by Municipal Affairs
Minister Robin Blencoe.

Singh was formerly a property
adininistrator and financial officer
with the B.C. Housing Manage-
ment Commission and is a
member of the Real Estate In-
stitute of B.C.

The B.C. Assessment Authority
operates to assess the value of
B.C. properties and to ensure they
are evaluated equitably for taxa-
tion purposes.

The board develops policies that
direct the operation of the
assessment authority and is
responsible for ensuring the
authority operates efficiently and
effectively.

Eight new appcintments were
made to the board of directors of
the B.C. Assessment Authority.

“These new members, four
womer and four men, bring a
special mix of taients that wili be
important in meeting new
challenges facing the B.C.
Assessment Authority,’* said
Blencoe. :

“The appointments also -dem-
onstrate our government's com-
mitment to ensuring equal oppor-
tunities for women and providing
representation from = across the
province,”’ said Blencoe.
