Tare ee wane an A eating NORTH SHORE CREDIT On rremor - Credit Union continues to grow i am very pleased to provide this report on the progress of our Operation and Planning Process to date. Firsi, in Operations we have experienced excellent support and growth in the last five months, after a slower start earlier in the year. Member deposits have increased by over $44 million to approximately $300 million and member loans have incresed by about $20 million to over $227 million. Our earnings have also been extremely sirong, and this has allowed us to become even more competitive in our loan and deposit offerings. As well, the Board of Directors have approved a 4% dividend bonus to be paid on member Equity Shares as of December 31, 1989. This is in addition to the 11% quarterly dividend, and provides an overall rate of 15% — an excellent return, I’m sure you'll agree. Strong and consistent member support has provided the basis for the excellent year we are having and has helped us react a significant milestone; that is, surpassing $300 million in assets (now up to $324 million). We are also expanding and renovating our Dollarton Branch in Deep Cove to improve our ability to serve our members from that location. An A.T.M. and Night Depository will also be provided through the expansion. As well, the Lonsdale Branch will receive a major facelift early in 1990, again to ensure we are able to serve members more effectively in the Jonger term. Our staff have been working very hard to help us improve the level of service we are providing to our members, and from comments we are receiving, this is being well received by our members. Member Service is our top priority as we look to the future. Looking at that future, we are progressing well with our long term comprehensive planning process. With the Board of Directors we have now developed a ‘“‘VISION’’ (or model) of what we want the Credit Union to be over the next five years (by 1994). This “‘VISION”’ is supported by a revised updated Mission Statement and a series of operational «bjectives. It will also be supported by a five year plan of development. We are also developing a Code of Ethics and a series of operational priorities, of which the first, as | noted earlier, is to focus on and iraprove ‘‘Service to Members’’ even further. By early 1990, we will be ready to share many of these plans and documents with you in a series of articles and reports. Others of our priorities include improving and enhancing our Marketing, Member Communi- cation and Education, support to employee development and improved and_ additional products and services to serve members effectively in fuiuie. In this regard, we will be conducting some member research and surveys in 1990 to seek your specific input to these developments. Finally, over the next two years we want to develop an incentive program to reward those members who do most or (especially) all of their business with us. In closing, on behalf of our Board of Directors and staff, a very specia! ‘‘Thank You’’ for your ongoing support. We also wish you the very best of health, happiness and success for the approaching holiday season and the New Year 1990. We look forward to working and communicating with you in the months ahead. P.D. (Phil) Keller Chief Executive Officer Doilarton Branch renovates Cotor this festive season biue and gold and wrap it in oak trim at the North Shore Credit Union Dollarton Branch in North Vancouver. The branch, located at 399 Dollarton Highway, is doubling in size and undergoing major renovations. Work began November 6. The job should be completed by mid-December. ““We’re re-doing the whole branch. After we’ve set up the new cash services side, we’re | tearing out the innards of the TON e rest of the branch. We’re making it a fully-equipped branch rather than a sateliite branch,”’ said Branch Manager Bill Collins. Originally built in 1979, the 750-square-foot branch office will be expanding to cover approximately 1,600 square feet. New membership services featured at the Dollarton Branch irclude an ATM and a night deposit box. The branch presently services 2,100 accounts. But Collins anticipates the number will grow as the North Vancouver community continues to rapidly develop. ‘‘Our intention is to continue to provide our members with the personalized service we've become recoguized for. We invite prospective ew members to come in and test us out,” Collins said. Call Bill Cellins or Financial Services Officer Jerry Sims at 929-8111 for more information.
