More than 100
facing charges

NORTH VANCOUVER
RCMP are compiling some
impressive arrest statistics in
their annual holiday road-
block blitz.

The blitz, which started
December 8 and which will
run until January 3, has so
far resulted in more than 100
charges being laid.

Police say they have issued

19, 24-hour licence suspen-
sions, have laid four charges
of refusing to take a breath-
alizer test and three charges
of impaired driving. In all
three cases, according to
police, those charge have
been over twice the .08 hmit.

Police have also laid 95
charges of driving without
seat belts against drivers in
the area.
