something special to do dur-
ing the week before
Chnstmas may consider five
days of fun at the North Van-
couver Recreation Centre or
Wilham Gnffin Community
Centre.

Youngsters, ranging in age
from six to twelve, who like
swimming, skating, playing
games, watching movies, go-
ing on outings (Planetarium,
Arts, Sciences and
Technology Centre and hav-
ing parties, should register
right away for this super pro-
gram by phoning the Recrea-
tion Centre at 988-6166 or
William Griffin at 986-2255.

The dates are December 19
and December 23, from 8:00
a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The fee of
$55.00 includes all activities,

transportation, and
instruction.
And, there is an added

bonus! Child care is available
from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. every
day at just $5.00 a day or
$20.00 for the week.

Magnussen Arena

A WEEK long workshop for
girls aged 6 - 13 years will be
held at Karen Magnussen
Arena during the Christmas
break. Participants will work
on basic skills of skating,
shooting, passing, goalten-
ding and positional play.
Coaches will be Beth and
Ron Bennett, of the B.C.
Ringette Association.

The workshop will be held

through Friday, December
23, 7:15 a.m. - 8:15 a.m. A

free T-shirt will be provided

for all workshop
participants.

FUNDAMENTALS will be
the focus for boys and girls,
as well as men, at the
Christmas hockey workshops
held at Karen Magnussen
arena, December 19 to 23.

Skating, shooting, puck
control and goaltending skills
will be enhanced, all under
the supervision of CAMA
coaches.

Workshop for ages 6-9
years will be held daily from
9:00 - 10:00 a.m. 10-13 year
olds will run from 1:30 - 3:00
p.m. Clinic coaches are Chris
Hawkins, John Sheils, Nor-
man Callaghan and Rick
VanRikxoort.

The men’s hockey
workshop will be led by Brad
Duggan and will be held
Monday, December 19 - Fri-

designed to give the once-a-
week player an opportunity
to scrimmage and work on
skills with professional

assistance, in a _ practice
