American Motors Canada
Inc. says its car sales in
January increased 76 per
cent over those of January,
1982.

Half of the cars sold were
the Allhance model, which
was the Motor Trend car of
the year. Some 1,085 of the
2,048 American Motors cars
sold in January were the
Alhance model, compared
with 1,163 of all models sold

in January, 1982.

Renault sales increased
11.5 per cent to 641 cars in
January, but Jeep sales were
down 41 per cent.
