BEKINS/ PRINCE GRAND NEWS photo Hell Lucente PRIX TENNIS CIRCUIT Richards takes tennis title FOURTH-SEEDED Glenn Richards of North Van- couver captured the men’s singles title at the first ever Bekins/Prince Grand Prix Tennis Circuit tournament in Burnaby, defeating No. 3 seed Josef Brabenec Sr., also of North Vancouver, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. The win was Richard’s first victory over rival Brabenec, a former Davis Cup player and the 1988 Bekins/Prince Men’s Grand Prix Circuit champion. “| killed two birds with one stone,”’ said Richards. “This was long overdue.”” Richards, 24, reached four finals without winning a title in last year’s Bekins/Prince Circuit. Of those finals, three were played against Brabenec, 32, who works as a pro at Burnaby’s Olympic Athletic Club. Richards, who plays at Capilano Tennis Club, decided to take a new approach against Brabenec in the Okanagan Premium Cider Burnaby Open final. ‘I was doing some things differently today, moving in on his serve and mixing things up.
