Health Minister Ralph
Mair has announced ap-
proval in pnaciple of a 100-
bed long-term care facility in
North Vancouver.

The owner is the North
Shore Intermediate Care
Society, which Mair said 1s
typical of the non-profit
organizations that are
emerging throughout the
province to provide
residential facihties for the
elderly and dtsabied.

Mair said three MLA's for
the area -- Attorney-General

Allan Willams, Jack Davis
and Angus Ree - were
instrumental in bringing the
project to its present stage

In addition to 100 in
termediate care beds. the
proyect will Contain an adult
day care ounmit and the
capabihty to add another SO
beds ata future date

The facility will be built in
the 1900) block Mountain
Highway at an estimaticd
cost of $3.9 million Tt oas
