USING music to teach children to
solve problems peacefully is what
the Buddy System is all about.

Counsellor/musician Sue Maleolm and
singer/songwriter Vie Smyth bring their 30-
minute school show to Lynn Valley Centre
Saturday, Performances start at fT aam. and I
p.m. and are geared for kids in Kindergarten
through Grade 3.

“Catchy songs are used to teach every

thing from, sitting in a cirele to picking up
toys. So why not use songs to help kids
remember things ike ‘haw to calm down
when you're angry,’ and ‘how to talk about
your feelings instead of hitting’,” says
Malcolm.

The shaw is sponsored by the North Shore
Disability Resource Centre in partnership
with North Shore Neighbourhood House,
North Shore Childcare Resource Society and
North Shore Community Services.
