GOD SAVE the Queen, Fewer and fewer of us know the words

to the song, both God and the Queen seeming to have fallen from

favor of ate. It's the Queen who is under attack this time, from
Lucienne Robillard, Canada’s new immigration and citizen-

ship minister. Robillard says the citizenship oath taken by new
Canadians should be revised to reflect “the Canadian identity?" But

if we decide that the Queen is no longer relevant, where do we draw

the line? New stamps, new bills and coins? Hiow about the Girt
Guides-—a revamped motto for the 90s? True, the monarchy plays
inguiring 9 diminished role in Canada’s affairs, but few people are reluc-
reporter tant to let it go — only 19.4% answered yes when asked: “Should
