Gulls lead league

THE NORTH Shore Rusty Gull
Bluejays of the Pacific Metro
League moved back to a 14% game
lead with a [6-5-2 record follow-
ing an exciting 4-3 win over
second-place Richmoad.

Warren Lowe pitched a four-
hitter, striking out six players
enroute to his second win since
returning from college in the
U.S.A. Clayton Lawrence added a
two-run double.

Earlier in the week, the Gulls
battered Surrey Sabre 11-2. Bob
Mill picked up the win, going the
distance with a five-hitter, striking
out seven.

This past weekend the Gullers
sent Chuck Law and Lowe to the
mound in an important
doubleheader against Coquitlam
Athletics.

Law picked up his cighth win
with a brilliant two-hitter in a 6-0
shutout. Ramon Alexander and
Cas Bennett each added a run
scoring triples.

Lowe picked up the second win
of the day with a one-hitter and
seven strikeouts in an 11-3 win.

Mason wins Par 3

THE NINTH ANNUAL Par
Three Golf Tournament. spon-
sored by Park Royal Shopping
Centre and the North Shore News,
was held Saturday at Ambleside
Park.
