Options for volunteers

YOU CAN make a positive dif-
ference this holiday season by par-
sticipating in the true spirit of
Christmas. Volunteer a few hours
per week of your time. It may be
the most important gift you give.
The following list describes a few
of the many volunteer oppor-
tunities available through the
North Shore Information and
Volunteer Cenire.

DEPENDABLE reliable drivers
are needed to assist slightly handi-
capped seniors with transportation
to and from medical appointments
and socialization programs. Hours
are flexible one or two hours per
week, Monday to Friday.

INTERESTED in the arts? A
local arts centre wants people to
join its steering committee and
assist with writing newsletters,
phoning volunteers and planning
social activities for volunteers.
Hours are flexible days with one
monthly evening meeting. Volun-
teer will receive theatre and gallery
invitations. If you are enthusiastic
and enjoy working with others call
about this opportunity.

VIDEO photographer with ex-
perience in video camera equip-
ment is wanted to assist wtih loca-
tion shots for a local television
program. Hours are variable, on-
call basis. Shaw Cable will train.

PATIENT supportive male is
wanted to establish a one-on-one
relationship with a non-verbal man
who enjoys swimming, music and
other activities. If you are com-
fortable relating to the handi-
capped come and make a new

to set and clear table and assist

Hours are flexible, 9 a.m. to 3
p.m. weekdays, one hour per week
or more. Training and orientation
