PET’S BEST FRIEND

DORIS ORR is not certain exactly how long she has been taking in stray and unwanted
animals but she figures 26 years is a fair estimate.

During that time she hasn't bothered to count the aumber of cats, dogs and the occa-
sional rabbit she has fed, sheltered and found homes for. At any given time, Orr’s
organization D.O.N.A.T.E. shelters 50 cats and up to a dozen dogs — all of which are in
need of homes.

A recently completed cat house (far left) will allow Orr to house even more animals at a
North Vancouver residence,

D.O.N.A.T.E. animals will be on display at Lynn Valley Mall February 6 to 12 and at
Park Royal Mall February 27 to March S. See page 34 for a listing of animals needing to be
adopted.
