Figure Skating Championships held over the Dec. 6 weekend in Victoria. The medal qualifies the 17-year-old skater to skate in the Western Divisional Championship in Edmon- ton, Alberta scheduled co be held at the beginning of January. The Atoms played a great game, but the Petites proved to be tena- cious checkers. In other ringette action, the NSWC “Ruthless Ringers’? Tween B’s scored a 4-0 victory over Delta on Dec. 6. Kerri Lynn Sprusten recorded the shut-out for the Tweens, while Jennifer Tyldesley scored a hat trick. Shona Mauch, in her ‘first game since coming back from a Jeg inju- ry, scored the fourth B’s goal. Assistant coach Mike Campbell said Stephani Maki made some brilliant saves for the NSWC in the Junior Belle ‘‘A’’ Dec. 4, 5-2 vic- tory over PoCo. Yvonne Harrer was a stand-out on offence, and Lori Plezia played well for the Belle team on defence. The NSWC Belle A’s posted an 8-4 exhibition game victory over North West Van Belles on Dec. 3. Curling seminar offered PEOPLE interested in learning the sport of curling are invited to the North Vancouver Recreation Cen- tre Jan. 5 and 12 to attend semi- nars offered by the North Van- couver Recreation Centre Curling Club. Curling club members will be on hand for advice, instruction and coaching. There will be no charge for par- ticipants. A special league will be set up Mondays to accommodate begin- ners. Led by Roland Kancek's three goals and one assist, Anvil tied Larry’s Sports 5-5, Rob Lervold also scored for Anvil while Hugh Cameron scored a hat trick for Larry's. In the team's other match, Anvil dropped a 9-1 decision to the Friends, 1. Andrukow and Randy Ledyard cach scored twice for the Friends. In other action, the Blazers defeated L.A. Tavern 10-2 with two goals crediied to both Bruce Davis and Keith Tindle. Both of L.A.'s goals were scored by Sandy McLean.
