This week I'm going to ask you to do a difficult thing — take all those fresh,
new bedding plants that you just bought, and pinch off the first flowers of buds.
Sounds drastic, but if you do this, and forego the first blooms, you will be
rewarded by much sturdier plants which will produce a lot more flowers. This

can apply to almost any annuals, but the ones which seem to benefit the most
are marigolds. Of course you should make sure at the same time that you have
: provided an optimum supply of the correct fertilizer.
